First Birthday Winnie Pooh Guide
A first birthday Winnie Pooh style is a great theme for your one year olds party and since Disney now have the rights to Winnie Pooh there are lots of party merchandise for you to buy. But Winnie the Pooh is not just about themed plates and hats it's about being a bit silly and having fun with your friends. Your invitations will start the theme, for these you could have a pot of Winnie the Pooh honey or 'hunny' shaped card, or a picture of one of the main characters, depending which is your favorite; Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Christopher Robin, Owl, Tigger all have a great shape and simple graphics - great for your invites.The official Disney site also has some free coloring sheets that would be great to use for the invite cover. Coloring sheets are also a brilliant back up for a quiet party game. Now we probably all know the story of Winnie the Pooh and the balloon on his search for honey, if not it's here. From that we must think that Winnie the Pooh would think balloons are a very good idea for a party, so lots of balloons for decoration would be good. They don't have to be themed, just lots of bright colors would be great. Winne the Pooh also loves hunny, so a party wouldn't be complete without a game involving a hunny pot. Since one year olds love putting things into and taking out this game is ideal for them. Decorate a plastic pot/ container with yellow and the word HUNNY, next make lots of bumble bees these could be of card, but the best has to be rolled socks with some yellow tape and wings. It helps if the socks are black. It is now upto your guests to find the bees and get them into the hunny pot. As with all games when you are one it is the taking part and not the winning that counts! A prize for everyone would be great.
