1st Birthday Party Themes At Home

1st birthday party themes do not have to be expensive. You can have a great first birthday party right at home and be glad you did. Why at home? For starters, you save money for venue rental. You can direct the money intended for the party for a party host or a clown or a magician. Second, you will not have to lug party stuff and your family back and forth the venue. Third, the baby’s schedule will not be disrupted as he/she will not have to leave the house for the party. What party theme is best done at home? Plenty.

For your little baby girl, you can choose the color PINK as the theme. Every party décor must be pink. Get different shades of pink balloons – light pink, fuchsia, rose pink, baby pink. Bunch them up in groups and place them in prominent spots around the party area. Set up tables for your guests and cover them with pink and white table cover. Order fresh flowers – pink daisies and carnations – and arrange them for centerpieces. Order a pink cake and strawberry ice cream. If you must, serve pink lemonade for beverage. To make it more fun, ask all your guests to come in shades of pink. You can do the same idea for a baby boy and use BLUE instead.

A baby animal 1st birthday party themes are fun! All babies love baby animals, at least the stuffed ones. Use the stuffed toys of your baby for décor. You can buy poster of baby animals and stick them on the walls. Play Old McDonald softly as background music and watch your young guests gravitate towards the sound. Some might even join the chorus – ee-i-ee-I-oh! There are lots of paper plates and paper cups with baby animal designs. If you have money to spare go right ahead and buy several packs. If money is an issue, buy solid color paper plates and cups as they are less expensive. Buy a few pieces of animal Mylar balloons for effect. Decorate the room with different color streamers and multicolor latex balloons. Serve cupcakes with little animals as décor. The kids will enjoy these novelty cupcakes which could double up as party souvenirs too.

Perfect 1st birthday party themes are all about the number 1. Make different shapes and sizes of the number 1 and stick them on walls, hang them from ceilings and stand them on floors. Add a few number 1 balloons. Bake a cake and ice it in white. Decorate with the number 1 using cake icing the color of your theme. Make the number 1 interesting by writing it in different font style. Browse on font styles online or in word document. Try to create different shades of your color motif so as to make the cake look more interesting and yummy. For centerpieces put up pictures of the celebrant and with the number 1 prominently glued on the frame.

You may or may not decorate your home for the first birthday party. The baby birthday celebrant will not mind anyway. The important thing is to make the party memorable to everyone present.
