1st Birthday Party Games
1st birthday party games will depend on who is at the party. If it is all your friends and family with lots of other one year olds and older then you need to have games where all children can join in. Games for All are treasure hunt games - you can hide pictures of favorite objects - baby bottle, teddy, dolly, ball, animals and then have your guests find them. I have color coded the pictures before so that older children know they can only find yellow pictures - make these more difficult and then have low down easy to find pictures for the one year olds. You can have a crawling relay race and even a crawling race with a teddy as the prize.Balloons blown up can provide lots of entertainment - especially if you hide little treats in some of the balloons that they have to find. Just having some toys out for your one year old party guests to play with works well; balls, balls, more balls, cars, teddies, dolls, shape sorters. Just a few toys works better than having lots as this is just overwhelming and a a nightmare to clean up afterwards.
Don't forget the ultimate 1st birthday party games always involve wrapping paper! Ripping it, throwing it, hiding in it, wearing it - just stand back and watch! If your first birthday party is mainly adult relatives then the entertainment can be centered around your one year old. A really sweet idea is to have a cardboard framed photo of them and have your guests write happy birthday messages on the frame. You can then display the picture later. You could have a slide show or video clips from your baby's first year, it will be just like at the oscars and there won't be a dry eye in the house. If you are having a
theme
then you can choose your party games to match, check out our party theme ideas for more inspiration. Remember to take lots of photos, it is a good idea to have someone else do this as you will be running around making sure everything is perfect. You can sit down and enjoy looking at them later.
