1st Birthday Crown Ideas
A 1st birthday crown is the perfect photo opportunity at your child's first party, it could fit into your prince or
princess
theme really well. You can buy ready made crowns, some will even have 1st on them and they will either be with elastic or with hair combs to secure them in place. For the record neither methods work any better, our children when they turned one had very little hair so all party hats had to have the elastic as hair combs would have been pretty pointless! There are of course those beautiful babies that have lots of lovely hair so you choose which crown is best for you. There is also the factor that one year olds do have a mind of their own - you want them to wear a crown and they may decide they want to wear a woolly hat so be prepared to forget the crowns at the last minute.Another way to have crowns included in your theme is to have your party guests make their own, you will need card cut in a zig zag and slightly bigger than needed and lots of one year old friendly crayons, maybe dry pasta, friendly glue and even sparkly stickers. Make sure you have the area well covered with mats, plastic cloths and newspaper to try and catch any spills! You will also need lots of supervision to make sure the bits get stuck onto the crowns and not eaten. Your little guests can then take their creations home at the end of the party. This activity works really well if you have older children as well, everyone will want to get involved. Birthday crowns also look great on your invitations, cake toppers and as decorations.
